The Trauma Center Physician Assistant will work autonomously and will be supported by a team of Trauma Advanced Practice Providers and team of artfully skilled nurses.
The Advanced Practice Physician Assistant must be enthusiastic and excited about helping patients with a complex variety of Trauma and urgent needs.
The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (Trauma APP) is part of the Trauma Team, providing care for injured patients throughout their hospitalization.
This includes assessment, evaluation, treatment, and appropriate referrals.
The Trauma APP will work collaboratively with the rest of the Trauma Team to ensure consistent, high-quality care and facilitate admission and management of the majority of injured patients to the Trauma Service.
The Physician Assistant coordinates and implements aspects of trauma care (medical and surgical) of the injured and acute care surgery patients.
The Physician Assistant provides effective health care in maintaining collaborative and consultative relationship with all members of the interdisciplinary care team while providing excellent and timely care to the patients admitted to the Trauma Center.
The Trauma PA will participate in daily rounding and collaborate with attending residents in order to adjust plans of care.
The Trauma Center Physician Assistant will be working hand in hand with the Trauma Medical Director to further the level of care.
The Physician Assistant collaborates with the nursing staff and assists by offering continued education of daily care, risk potential and wound care product knowledge.
