The Visualization Engineer position will be a key member of an agile enterprise data group integrating key systems across James Hardie. You will partner with IT and business to support the continued growth and success of James Hardie in a robust and cohesive team. In order to be successful the Integration Engineer works closely with Business Analysts and end users to design, develop, test, and implement interfaces to/from various Enterprise Systems and the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to effectively meet business requirements. The position will be developing and supporting an Informatica cloud environment utilizing IICS. In addition to project work, this position will also provide Business As Usual (BAU) support for the existing environment by developing new programs and enhancements to support existing business requirements. This position reports to the Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics, and has no direct reports.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and devlopment with Business Objects and Tableau in either/both Data Warehousing and existing business systems projects
  • Understand the visualization design needs for a specific set of data
  • Build dashboards and reports accessing data from various systems based on business needs
  • Utilize your experience to propose and recommend new visualizatiosn to drive business insight and data analysis
  • Develop and improve relationships with vendors, customers, internal departments, and other associated entities
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments to accomplish various tasks and projects
  • Provides ongoing Business as Usual (BAU) support for the Business Objects and Tableau platforms by developing new capabilities as needed while working with Business Analysts / end-users to visualize data ensuring adequate end user testing and acceptance of all changes

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or Information Technology related field
  • 5
    years experience as a Visualization/BI engineer utilizing Business Objects, Tableau and other BI reporting and visualization tools (Qlik, Microstrategy, etc)
  • 1
    year experience specifically using Business Objects is required
  • 1
    year experience specifically using Tableau is required
  • Strong SQL coding skills for data analysis and testing
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrated Teamwork / collaboration expertise with experience in taking a leadership role in team / project activities.
  • Understanding of full life cycle development methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to remain effective and productive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as required

Preferred
Experience:

  • Experience with Cloud-based data sources for visualizations (Azure, Amazon, Google)
  • Experience working directly with Data Analysts and Data Scientists for advanced visualizations

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
